Colombian singer Shakira and Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy will perform the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico City.
The show is scheduled for 11 June at Estadio Azteca, ahead of the opening match between Mexico and South Africa, with the pair billed to perform Dai Dai, the tournament anthem.
According to FIFA, the song is meant to reflect the energy and global spirit of the World Cup, while Shakira’s appearance adds to her history with the tournament after earlier hits linked to past editions.
Other performers expected at the opening ceremony include J Balvin and Tyla, as the World Cup begins across three host nations.
