Manchester United have secured the future of defender Harry Maguire after he signed a new contract extension that will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2027, with an option for a further year.
The England international, aged 33, was previously expected to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, but both parties reached an agreement after contract talks were completed.
Maguire joined Manchester United in 2019 from Leicester City in a deal reported to be around £80 million and has since made over 260 appearances for the club.
According to The Punch, the new deal is part of the club’s plan to maintain experienced players in the squad as they aim to compete strongly in domestic and European competitions.
The defender recently returned to the England national team setup following improved performances at club level.
