In a resignation letter dated March 23, 2026, addressed to his ward chairman in Nasarawa I, Birnin Kebbi, the politician announced his immediate exit from the party after what he described as careful reflection on his political direction.

“I write to formally tender my resignation as a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately,” he stated.

Gede explained that his decision followed a period of personal assessment of his beliefs and future goals in public service. He acknowledged the role the PDP played in his political journey, noting that he remains appreciative of the opportunities and relationships he built during his time in the party.

“This decision has been made after careful consideration and reflection on my political beliefs, aspirations, and the direction I wish to pursue in my service to the people,” he added.

The former senator also confirmed his alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying the party better reflects his current vision for governance and development.

“However, I have resolved to align myself with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as I believe it provides a platform that better reflects my current political ideals and vision for governance,” he said.

He concluded by thanking party members for their support over the years and wished the PDP success in its future activities.
