The tragic incident, captured in a viral video circulating on social media, shows the rider struggling against the strong current before being overpowered and carried away.
Eyewitnesses said the motorcyclist was carrying a female passenger when the surge of water overwhelmed him. In the video, bystanders could be heard urging others to assist, but the force of the flood proved too strong.
Sympathisers at the scene displayed the victim’s motorcycle plate number, calling on relatives or acquaintances to come forward and identify him.
Residents have appealed for urgent intervention from both state and federal authorities, lamenting that erosion and flooding continue to endanger lives and destroy property across the state.
