Turkish giants Besiktas have officially completed the signing of Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City for a fee believed to be close to £9 million.
The Nigerian international, who spent seven seasons at Leicester, becomes the latest major signing for Besiktas as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Süper Lig campaign.
Ndidi, 28, was a key figure in Leicester’s midfield, playing a pivotal role in their 2016/17 Premier League survival and their historic FA Cup win in 2021. Known for his tough tackling, high work rate, and defensive awareness, Ndidi brings a wealth of experience and physicality to the Turkish side.
The move marks a new chapter for the Super Eagles star, who had just one year left on his contract with the Foxes. Talks had progressed rapidly in recent days, with personal terms agreed before the player successfully completed his medical in Istanbul.
Besiktas fans will hope Ndidi’s arrival adds stability and strength to their midfield as they push for domestic glory and European success this season.
Ndidi is expected to be unveiled to the fans later this week.
