Lil Nas X, born Montero Hill, was arrested in Los Angeles on August 21 for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
He faced four felony charges—three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer.
After spending the weekend in custody and being hospitalized for a possible overdose, he pleaded not guilty in court on August 25.
He was released on $75,000 bail the same day. The judge has ordered him to attend four Narcotics Anonymous meetings weekly.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 15, and he could face up to five years in prison if convicted.
