Japan Dismisses Reports of Special Visa Scheme for Nigerians. Details below....

The Japanese government has denied claims that it is creating a special visa for skilled Nigerians to relocate to Kisarazu.

The reports originated from a statement attributed to Nigeria’s presidency, suggesting that highly skilled Nigerians, artisans, and blue-collar workers could benefit from such an arrangement.

Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that no such immigration policy exists. Instead, the “JICA Africa Hometown” programme, unveiled at TICAD9, is designed to foster cultural and educational exchanges between four Japanese cities and four African countries.

Under the scheme, Kisarazu was designated as Nigeria’s partner city, alongside partnerships with Tanzania, Ghana, and Mozambique.

The ministry emphasized that the initiative is about cultural exchange, not immigration, and pledged to release accurate information to prevent further misinformation.
