Dr. Rick Brennan, WHO's regional emergencies director for the Eastern Mediterranean region, stated that despite efforts, essential medical supplies and critically needed fuel have yet to reach the hospitals in the northern part of Gaza.
Dr. Brennan highlighted the dire situation, revealing that one-third of the hospitals in the Gaza Strip are now non-functional, amplifying the immense medical burden faced by the region.
He pleaded for a sustained, expanded, and protected humanitarian operation, urging those with the power to make decisions or influence decision-makers to provide the necessary humanitarian space to address this unfolding human catastrophe.
