After communicating with the young kid via SnapChat, Alissa McCommon, 38, of Covington, Tennessee, was detained late last month (September 2023) and charged with rape of a child.
On Tuesday, October 3, the former Charger Academy fourth grade teacher appeared in court. The hearing centred on a string of messages and phone calls that the mother of two reportedly had with the victim.
The teacher claimed to be pregnant and prepared to give birth to her third child during one of her phone calls.
This infant will be raised by me. She said on the recording aired in court, "I can do this.
She had previously told the youngster that if he told the police about their relationship, he would "regret" it.
Whether McCommon is expecting a child and whether the 12-year-old boy is the father have not been officially confirmed by the authorities.
In a different communication, she also made a pregnancy hints. She reportedly wrote, "I have to tell you something that is serious and huge that deals with you," as reported by local news source Fox 13.
I own responsibility for this error, which I made. Another purported text from McCommon read, "OMG remove this number, don't get me in trouble. You won't receive another text from me. The ex-teacher was supposedly heard on an audio clip saying, "You won't hear from me again, just please don't say anything.
The accusation that she had sex with the former student at her home led to her initial dismissal from Charger Academy at the start of 2021. According to the Covington Police Department, she is also accused of having sex with a number of other students, including begging them to have sex with her while sending them images of herself in her knickers.
On Monday, November 27, McCommon is scheduled to appear in court after being rebooked into the Tipton County Jail.
