A candlelight vigil for the deceased future singer was conducted on Thursday night at Lekki Toll Gate, and a number of celebrities were present.

After the incident, many people went home, but some stayed around to protest for the victims, which prompted the authorities to use tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Uche Jombo scolded them, pointing out that the parade had stopped at 8 p.m. and that the crowd had been asked to go home. However, many of them persisted in their refusal and staged demonstrations at the Tollgate.

She questioned why supporters went to the Toll Gate after the directive and urged Nigerians to perform better.

The Lagos Police Command provided an explanation for using tear gas hours earlier to disperse mourners who had gathered for a candle-lit procession in Mohbad's honor.

According to Lagos Police PRO Benjamin Hundeyin, the decision was made to prevent pandemonium and gridlock.
