According to President Tinubu, fiscal and institutional reforms are necessary in order to address the nation's problems with governance and development.

Climate change, finance, and innovation initiatives in the twenty-first century are interwoven. It will be easier to implement reforms and address the difficulties if one has a strong platform and believes in innovation. This is Africa's largest economy and democracy, and if we can't do it, no one else will, he declared.

President Tinubu said that the bank and other willing financial institutions could assist the nation, for example by working together to make sure Nigerian gas competes favorably on the world market as a viable source of alternative revenue, because no one can do it alone.

A month after the President was inaugurated, Tinubu unveiled reforms like the elimination of fuel subsidies, the unification of the foreign currency market, and other measures that had direct macroeconomic impacts like increases in the cost of products, services, and transportation.
