Patrick Vieira has been fired as the first-team coach of Crystal Palace, the club has announced.
The decision was made following a poor stretch of play for the Eagles in 2023, who had lost all 12 of their games since the new year.
It is with great sorrow that this tough decision has been made, according to a statement from club chairman Steve Parish on the club website.
We believed a change was required to offer us the best chance of maintaining our Premier League status since, ultimately, recent results have put us in a dangerous league position.
That said, Patrick has had a tremendous impact since joining us in the summer of 2021, and he is regarded highly by all.
