Russia_Ukraine War: ICC issues an arrest warrant for Putin

The warrant was issued by the ICC on the basis of allegations that people were being illegally removed from Ukrainian territory and transferred to the Russian Federation. On the same charges, the court also issued an arrest warrant for Maria Lvova-Belova, Russia's Commissioner for Children's Rights.

While presenting the project as a humanitarian effort to assist orphans and children abandoned in the combat zone, Russia has not obscured the fact that it has imported thousands of Ukrainian children to the nation.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated, "The verdicts of the International Criminal Court have no effect for our country, even from a legal point of view," in her initial response to the news from Moscow.
