SP Kazeem Raheem, a Divisional Police Officer, was murdered by bandits in Maru town, the seat of the Maru local government area in Zamfara state. Raheem passed away.
Raheem was murdered along with a vigilante and an unnamed police officer.
A local who wished to remain anonymous told bendelnews that the intruders had come to the area in order to kidnap a businessman known as Alhaji Iliyasu.
The DPO organised his men to thwart the criminals' plan to kidnap the businessman, but he was killed in the gun battle.
