UK prime minister 'Rishi' fined by police for not using a seatbelt.

Rishi Sunak, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, was fined by police on Friday for removing his seatbelt while driving to record a social media video.

During a visit to northwest England on Thursday, Sunak, 42, recorded a message for Instagram from the back of a government vehicle and has since apologised for his "mistake of judgement."

A passenger in a moving automobile in Lancashire was not wearing a seat belt, according to a video that was "circulating on social media," according to the Lancashire Police force. The police stated that they had "issued a 42-year-old male from London with a conditional offer of fixed punishment" without mentioning Sunak by name.

The maximum fine for not wearing a seat belt is 500 pounds ($620), while fixed penalty notices for these violations are typically 100 pounds ($124) if paid on time.

Police issued Rishi Sunak, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, a fine for removing his seatbelt while driving to record a social media video.

The conditional offer entails that the punished party acknowledges responsibility but is exempt from appearing in court. Police remained mum over Sunak's fine.

The prime minister "completely accepts this was a mistake and has apologised," according to a statement from Sunak's office. Of course, he will pay the stipulated fine.
