We're serving Nigeria by marrying many wives-Ned Nwoko

Prince Chinedu Munir Nwoko, often known as Ned Nwoko, is a politician and lawyer in Nigeria. He has been accused of contributing to the immorality that exists in society by claiming that men who do not marry more than one wife are to blame.

The former congressman, who made this comment in a recent interview with the Guardian, urged the male population of Nigeria to follow the example of the male population of the north by marrying multiple wives.

He stated that "many women are out there without a spouse, especially in the southern portion of the country, and there is a high level of prostitution." Specifically, he was referring to the southern region of the country. It's possible that things could turn out differently if southern men followed the example set by their northern counterparts and married more than one woman.

"A typical southerner may have one wife and several girlfriends, and he may spend just as much money on his girlfriends as he does on his wife.

"For example, the man who has three wives is likely to not have a girlfriend or any concubines because all of the money he makes goes toward supporting his family. Additionally, it is quite unlikely that he will have any concubines. The money that men who have more than one girlfriend spend on those women is a gift rather than an investment in the family.

Nwoko, who is married more than once, made the observation that both he and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, are doing Nigeria a service by having numerous wives.

Ned, who further claimed to have the same background as Ooni, explained that their grandfathers had been monarchs and had served Nigeria in that role. Ned made this claim while claiming to have the same background as Ooni. "And we are now also serving Nigeria by marrying many wives.
