JUST IN: Ifeanyi, Davido's son, drowned, according police autopsy report.

Ifeanyi Adeleke, the son of Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, was found dead on Saturday after an autopsy indicated that he had drowned, according to the Lagos State Police Command.

In a conversation with a reporter from PUNCH, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police's public relations officer, confirmed the development. "The autopsy has been completed," stated Hundeyin. It is proof that Ifeanyi, the boy, drowned.

According to The PUNCH, there were signs that the police might do an autopsy to ascertain whether Ifeanyi drowned at his father's house in the Banana Island neighbourhood of Lagos State.

It is standard procedure for the police to perform an autopsy in such a case, according to a reliable source who confirmed the development.

The source added that the police would abstain from the action if the deceased family members objected, though.

Although the family members have not spoken up yet because they are still in shock, the source stated that until someone tells them to stop, an autopsy will be performed as is customary practise in every death case.

The cook and nanny, whose job it was to look after the wellbeing of the three-year-old boy, had been detained for reasons including failing to uphold the duty of care of the minor, the source further explained.

Out of the eight domestic workers questioned by the police in relation to Ifeanyi's death, the source said.

The cook and nanny were reportedly still being held as of the time this article was published.
