Steven Gerrard, manager of Aston Villa, receives a message from the Prince of Wales.

The Prince of Wales sent the Aston Villa team a note of support, according to manager Steven Gerrard of the team.

Prior to Monday's burial for Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, an ardent supporter of Aston Villa, is in London.

After Friday's 1-0 Premier League victory over Southampton for Aston Villa, Gerrard remarked in his post-game news conference, "He messaged the club throughout the week, and it says everything about what he thinks about this club."

"I was definitely surprised by that. He is deeply entangled in Villa. It's pretty remarkable that he could message in his current predicament.

Gerrard said, "I'm sure he'll be happy for us to reward that [Prince William's message] with a result and clean sheet. It was something along the lines of 'would love to be there'.

He always stays in touch. Each boy receives a lot of personalized assistance from him. His level of expertise and commitment are truly amazing.

Remember that after Queen Elizabeth II passed away last Saturday at the age of 96, all English football was canceled?

As they were during the two Premier League games on Friday, tributes were respectfully respected when the league resumed play on Tuesday.
