According to reports, terrorists enter a mosque in Zamfara and kidnap scores of worshipers.

Friday, gunmen suspected of being terrorists allegedly raided Jumaat Mosque in the Zugu town of Gummi local government area in Zamfara State and kidnapped hundreds of worshippers.

Ibrahim Mustapha, one of the worshipers who luckily escaped, told DAILY POST on Friday evening that the armed men concealed their weapons inside their clothing before storming the mosque as the Imam was ready to give his sermon.

He stated, "No one seen them with firearms, and many individuals misunderstood them for worshippers." They escaped detection because they concealed their firearms.

He stated that after entering the mosque, they drew their guns and fired a few warning shots before herding the attendees into the bushes. However, some of the worshippers were able to escape the mosque to safety.

Unbeknownst to them, he added, armed men took up positions outside the mosque and abducted a number of individuals who were present.

"They fired three bullets into the air before moving hostages into the woodland."

SP Muhammad Shehu, the public relations officer for the state of Zamfara, stated that he had not received a report on the attack, but he promised to get back to our correspondent.
