Reject Expired Politicians, Archbishop urged Nigerians

Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma, the archbishop of the Enugu Archdiocese in the Anglican Communion, has asked Nigerians to vote against ineligible candidates in the 2023 elections.

The call was made by Archbishop Chukwuma over the weekend during the Renaissance Polytechnic's opening in the Awka South Local Government Council of Anambra State.

He believes that the people in power are beyond their prime and ought to be shown the door so that younger people with fresh leadership qualities can take their place.

According to him, the younger generation has a fresh mentality that is focused on collecting PVCs to vote out all of the country's out-of-date lawmakers.

Additionally, he protested the federal
government's payment of N1.4 billion to the Niger Republic for the purchase of vehicles despite the fact that the country lacks the resources to fund the provision of healthcare, education, and other services.

"The federal government's decision is absurd, abhorrent, and incorrect. Why should the federal government give such a sizable sum to another nation when they claim their government cannot afford to fund education? In all honesty, our politicians have lost their minds.

Next year, we should make sure to vote them out so that leaders with morals can take control, he stated.

He claimed that Nigerians are prepared and eager to support candidates who will govern the nation with integrity and honesty rather than these "expired people" who hurt the majority.
