President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condolences on the passing of Mustapha Balogun, a former Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
The president expressed his sorrow alongside the Nigeria Police Force, an organisation Balogun spent the majority of his life serving, in a message of condolences sent on Friday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.
Buhari noted that Balogun tried his utmost to ensure that the police carried out their legal obligations under a democratic regime while serving as IGP.
He added that those who worked with Balogun acknowledged his propensity for boosting the morale of the force's officers and members.
The president expressed his condolences to the deceased police chief's family, the Osun government, the local populace, and his former coworkers.
He prayed for the deceased's soul to find peace.
