Lothar Matthaus, a former midfielder for Bayern Munich, has welcomed Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bundesliga champions from Manchester United.
Matthaus thinks a Ronaldo transfer to Bayern Munich this summer would be "sexy."
Amid worries that he won't be able to compete for the biggest trophies at Old Trafford, Ronaldo has already informed Manchester United that he wants to leave.
The likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Napoli, Paris Saint-Germain, and AS Roma are all interested in the Portugal captain.
According to Matthaus, a Ronaldo move to Bayern would be seductive.
"At the very least, consider all of your options and exercise them.
"I would give it some thought," said Ronaldo, "if Bayern are of the opinion that Cristiano Ronaldo is still physically able to really help for a year or two and that they can invest the transfer fee generated for Robert Lewandowski more or less like-for-like in the Portuguese megastar."
Naturally, that wouldn't be a transfer with an eye toward the future, he continued. He is 37 years old and frequently makes news.
"I'm not certain whether he fits into Bayern Munich's system, either. He is still a fantastic goal scorer, though. He is among the best strikers of all time and would undoubtedly reach the 30-goal mark. It would be guaranteed to refinance through jersey sales and similar events.
