"I will make sure that the APC will win in 2023," says Amaechi on arrival in Rivers.

Rotimi Ameachi, a former minister of transportation in Nigeria, claims he has returned to Rivers State to help the All Progressives Congress win the 2023 general elections.

Amaechi made the statement immediately after landing on Saturday at Omagwa Port Harcourt International Airport.

Leaders of the APC and his followers greeted him at the airport with excitement.

The former minister reaffirmed his commitment to resolving all party disputes that followed his defeat in the APC presidential primary last month.

He consequently appealed to party members to join him in achieving the goal.

Amaechi branded the litigants as troublemakers who want to make the party's 2019 experience in the state repeat itself when speaking about lawsuits brought against the party over the way its primaries were conducted in the state.

But he did guarantee that the APC would be on the ballot the next year.

"All those who are terrified of the election and want to sue to have people's names removed from the ballot, I thought they were well-liked," he remarked.

"In the election, we'll gauge our level of support. Trust the legal system; justice will be served. Go home and work without being afraid.

Amaechi received 316 delegate votes and finished second in the APC presidential primary last month.
