On behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, a candidate for president has refuted claims that Governor Nyesome Wike ignored his envoy in Turkey.
According to reports, Wike turned down Adamu Waziri, a former minister of police affairs who had been dispatched by Atiku, when he requested an audience.
Additionally, it was claimed that Wike turned off calls from Atiku and his operatives who were attempting to arrange a meeting with him.
This occurs amid rumours that Wike, who lost the PDP's presidential nomination to Atiku Abubakar, may be considering leaving the opposition group.
When choosing his running mate, Atiku also passed over Wike in favour of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
The main opposition party is now tense as a result of this.
Atiku's Senior Special Adviser on Media, Paul Ibe, refuted the reports, claiming that the PDP candidate for president did not sent any emissaries to Turkey.
He promised that all disagreements with Governor Wike and other displeased leaders would be settled amicably.
"At best, it is hogwash to claim that H.E. Atiku sent an ambassador who was rejected by Gov. Wike. No emissary from the @OfficialPDPNig presidential candidate travelled to Turkey.
"Those attempting to drive a wedge between the leaders don't have the PDP or Nigeria's best interests at heart.
I want to reassure them that the current disagreements with the governor of Rivers State and other disgruntled leaders would be settled peacefully so that the party can concentrate on ousting the disastrous APC government and starting the difficult process of rebuilding our country, "he tweeted.
