HEALTH: Eight Persons Confirmed With Monkeypox In Edo.

Eight people have tested positively for monkeypox in Edo State, according to the governor of that state.

The State's Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akoria Obehi, who confirmed the occurrence, encouraged citizens to adhere to safety precautions to stop the virus and other contagious diseases from spreading throughout the State.

All those who were diagnosed with the illness, according to Obehi, have made a full recovery.

Fever, headache, generalised weakness, sore throat, and swelling of glands in the neck and under the jaw were among the symptoms she listed.

She added that it could also manifest as a rash on the face, palms, soles of the feet, genitalia, and other areas of the body, which could first appear solid or fluid-filled.

Obehi recommended locals to contact the acting state disease surveillance and notification officer or visit the nearest medical facility if they experience any signs of monkeypox (0806 059 3802).
