Deji Adeyanju, a sociopolitical activist, has explained why he stopped endorsing Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Adeyanju revealed that after their three-hour meeting, he stopped being his supporter.
According to the activist, Peter Obi is not a saint and is just as crooked as everyone else.
Adeyanju said in a series of tweets on Monday that Obi had admitted to him that he had put billions of dollars from the Anambra State into his family firm and was still attempting to explain it.
He asserts that Peter Obi, despite not being a saint, is the best candidate out of those who have run, particularly given his cost-cutting theory.
"The actual reason I stopped supporting Peter Obi was after I met him for a 3 hour meeting at his instance of course & he disclosed to me he spent billions of Anambra State cash into his family business," Adeyanju said on Twitter. The man even attempted to defend it. He stated a lot more than that. SMH!”
"I concur that Peter Obi is the greatest candidate out of those who have run, especially in light of his cost-cutting perspective, but he is not a perfect man. He's just as dishonest as the others.
The pinnacle of corruption and abusing one's position is investing Anambra money in one's family business, Adeyanju declared.
