Seventy-four new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Ekiti State.
Dr. Oyebanji Filani, the state commissioner for health and human services, stated in a statement in Ado, Ekiti, that the additional cases were discovered during the Eld- EL- Kabir celebration.
Prior to the Eid El Kabir celebrations, which took place at the beginning of this month, the health commissioner saw a considerable reduction in the number of positive COVID-19 cases and low occupancy in the isolation centres.
He urged everyone living in the state to rigorously abide by the public health and social policies put in place by the administration to stop the virus from spreading.
The use of facemasks in public settings, maintaining hand hygiene through thorough handwashing or the use of alcohol-based hand rub, and social or physical segregation are all recommended precautions, according to Filani.
Others follow COVID-19 guidelines set forth by banks and other institutions, report illnesses to the closest medical facility, get tested, and then become isolated if the results are positive.
He urged everyone living in the state to be vaccinated, stating that vaccination is still the most effective way to stop the epidemic.
Dr. Filani verified that 384,730 people in the state had received all of their vaccinations.
He explained that throughout all LGAs in the state, the state government has trained and deployed over 80 mobile vaccination teams and 177 teams based in health facilities.
He urged residents to go to the immunisation station to receive their full course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
