Transfer: Chelsea suffers a major setback as Barcelona seals the deal to sign Kounde.

To sign Jules Kounde, Barcelona has reached a last-minute agreement with Sevilla.

Chelsea's planned transfers are now in ruins.

This summer, the two teams have been vying to recruit Kounde, but Chelsea appears to have gotten there first when they agreed to a cost of about £55 million.

Even the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, was seen on tape informing a fan that Kounde would be joining Chelsea.

However, Barca never gave up on signing the 23-year-old and continued to discuss the trade with their LaLiga opponents as of Saturday morning.

On his Jijantes FC Twitch channel, reputable Spanish journalist Gerard Romero claimed that they had reached an agreement in principle to sign Kounde.

Sevilla initially didn't think Barcelona would be able to match or even come close to Chelsea's £55 million offer, but now that the Blaugrana have pulled another financial "lever," they have verbally agreed on terms.

Although he wasn't ready to reject a move to Chelsea like Raphinha did earlier this summer, Barcelona always believed the Frenchman preferred a move to Camp Nou over a move to Stamford Bridge.
