Osun Prince is allegedly murdered by a cult group.

Yinusa Okunloye, a son of Oba Abdulahi Okunloye the Olofa of Ofatedo, was murdered by a rumoured cult.

In the early hours of Saturday, a 43-year-old Okunloye was killed at his home in Ofatedo, Egbedore Local Government, Osun State.

According to sources, the prince was shot in the chest after being summoned from his home around 12 a.m. on Saturday.

Around 8am on Saturday in Ofatedo, some men in a car were sighted welding firearms, which instilled fear in the hearts of the locals.

As of 8 am, there was a roadblock in the neighbourhood, and all businesses were shuttered.

The incident was confirmed by SP Yemisi Opalola, the public relations officer for the Osun State Police Command.

She claimed that three suspected cult members broke into Olofa Street in Ofatedo, summoned Okunloye from his room, and then shot him in the chest.

She revealed that the prince later passed away and his remains were taken to the mortuary of the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital for an autopsy.

However, Opalola assured that "frantic efforts are on to arrest the suspects" even though no arrests have yet been made.
