Mallam Tukur Mamu, the negotiator for the victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train incident, expressed concern on Tuesday about the deteriorating health of the surviving victims in the kidnappers' cave.
Tukur Mamu, the Publisher of the Kaduna-based Desert Herald Newspaper, expressed concern that some of the victims, who are being held in deplorable conditions and have been bitten by snakes, may perish if the Federal Government does not act quickly to secure their release.
Tukur Mamu said in a statement to journalists in Kaduna that most of the victims may not make it through the next several weeks due to their poor health and the terrible conditions they were subjected to inside the jungle.
Despite the fact that the victims had not been mistreated or beaten, he asked that the Federal Government make more steps to achieve their immediate release, as any delay could result in their death.
According to the DAILY POST, the robbers had previously released 11 of the victims after reaching an agreement with the authorities.
