Chelsea's first addition under Todd Boehly came in the form of Eve Perisset, a French defender who has joined the women's team.
Chelsea released a statement on its website on Wednesday confirming the news.
After signing a three-year contract with the three-time defending FA Women's Super League Champions, Perisset, 27, joined Chelsea from Bordeaux.
When the international transfer window opens on July 1, she will be given the No. 15 shirt.
Chelsea's release said in part, "Chelsea FC Women are thrilled to announce the signing of French international Caroline Perisset on a three-year deal ahead of the 2022/23 season."
"Joining the Blues on July 1st from French Division One side Bordeaux, the 27-year-old has signed a contract with the club through the summer of 2025 and will wear the number 15 shirt."
"It is a tremendous pleasure to join Chelsea and to be the first French female footballer to become a Blue!" Perisset stated. I am grateful for the chance that has been provided to me.
"It was the ideal time for me to make this major move to London and join the English Super League, and I can't wait to meet the club and the supporters at Kingsmeadow and Stamford Bridge later this summer!"
