No, I won't be responding to Fr. Mbaka – Peter Obi.

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has dispelled rumours that he had responded to a Catholic Priest named Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka for calling him a miserly and cursed man. Mbaka had called Obi.

It was alleged by bendelnews that Mbaka, while speaking at his Adoration Ministry in Enugu State, had stated that Obi would never even come close to smelling the seat of the president until God ceased to exist.

It would be preferable, in his opinion, to have an older guy serve as president rather than a "stingy young man."

On the other hand, a report of what was said to be a reaction from Peter Obi was made public on Thursday.

In a statement that was released on Thursday, Valentine Obienyem, who works as a media aide for Obi, claimed that the presidential candidate does not intend to give any kind of reaction to the cleric.

"We would want to bring to your attention a statement that is being attributed to Mr. Peter Obi as his response to Fr. Ejike Mbaka.

"We desire to emphasise for the record that Mr. Peter Obi did not release any reaction, and he does not intend to do so in the near future,"

"We urge that any publication trying to publish such an unsigned letter should first get confirmation from Mr. Obi's Media Office that the letter is legitimate.
