EPL: Raheem Sterling To Replace Lukaku At Chelsea If A Deal Can be Sealed For Lukaku To Return To Inter.

Chelsea would pursue Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling only if a deal to send Romelu Lukaku back to Inter Milan can be reached, according to the Mirror UK.

On Sunday, the Blues will meet with Inter chief executive Beppe Marotta for another round of talks.

After a poor season at Stamford Bridge, the two camps are hoping to achieve an arrangement that will see Lukaku return to San Siro.

Todd Boehly, the new owner of Chelsea, will then ramp up his club's efforts to persuade City to sell Sterling.

City and the England forward have been unable to reach an agreement on a new contract.

When his current deal expires next year, the Premier League winners risk losing the 27-year-old for free.

Sterling would be free to pursue his dream of playing in Europe, but the thought of returning to his London roots is also enticing.

Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea's manager, is a great supporter of Sterling and would welcome Lukaku's departure.
