Senator Ayo Arise has lauded the use of BVAS technology in the ongoing gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.
Arise, who served in the Ekiti North Senatorial District from 2007 to 2011, claimed INEC's new BVAS technology had improved the electoral process.
"INEC deserves praise for developing this technology because it has increased voter turnout and the process is quick," he said after casting his vote.
Before agreeing to an interview, he voted in his ward one, unit 4 Oye-Ekiti.
"The entire process is well-organized; the election has so far been quiet, and people have behaved nicely."
"Reports reaching me indicate that my community has a high voter turnout, and from what I've observed so far, the security arrangements have been outstanding."
"My folks are starting to notice and value my contributions to the community." They opted to vote for my party out of respect for me.
"I live in Abuja, yet I am in daily contact with my family and friends." Despite the fact that we have a candidate from another political party, my people have decided to vote for me because of my contributions to the community," he stated.
