Keke operator tortured into coma for fulfiling Soludo's instructions

A bunch of touts thrashed a commercial tricycle operator in Awka yesterday for refusing to pay cash to them as commanded by Professor Charles Soludo, the new governor of Anambra State.

During his inauguration last week, the governor directed that commercial vehicle operators, including trycycle and motorbike operators, should no longer pay cash to touts operating around the state in the name of revenue generation.

He stated that an acceptable revenue collection system will be implemented to ensure that people were not overtaxed. Touts publish unlawful tickets in most towns around the state to collect money from drivers.

According to reports, three touts approached the Keke driver in a park near the famed UNIZIK junction and demanded the standard N200 fee before starting their daily business.

The driver, on the other hand, reminded them that the new governor had warned people not to pay cash to anyone in the future, which incensed the touts.

Unless they were the only ones who hadn't heard that Soludo had prohibited touting in the state, the trycycle operator was alleged to have instructed them to go find something else to do because touting had expired in Anambra State.

The touts, on the other hand, insisted on taking the money and warned him they weren't prepared for any jokes. In reality, one of them instructed the Keke operator to contact Soludo and inform him of the money demand.

They also informed him that Soludo had just arrived, and that he had no idea how the system works.

They jumped on him at this point and knocked him out.
