Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, has granted a request by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to seize the assets of Abba Kyari and his co-defendants.
According to Punch, a top justice ministry source stated, "The AGF has backed the NDLEA's plea for authority to seize the assets of Abba Kyari, Ubua, and the other police officers implicated in drug peddling."
"With the approval, the drug agency now has the authority to seize their property, including real estate, bank accounts, cash, automobiles, stocks, bonds, and anything else of monetary value."
The beleaguered DCP's and co-assets accused's were seized to ensure they did not benefit from the proceeds of crime.
