Russia-Ukraine War-President Zelensky to free military veterans to fight Russia

Prisoners with military experience who are willing to fight the Russians will be released, according to Ukraine's President, Volodymr Zelensky.

This was said by Zelensky during a speech in Kyiv, the country's capital, as a Ukrainian delegation and Russian representatives met at the Belarusian border for peace talks.

"Save your lives and leave," he said, urging Russian soldiers in Ukraine to lay down their arms.

"Drop everything you've got. Please get out of here. Don't take your commanders' word for it. Don't believe what your propagandists are telling you. "All you have to do now is save your lives," Zelensky advised.

According to the President, the Russia invasion has resulted in the deaths of 4,500 Russian soldiers and 16 children.

In the meantime, Ukraine has requested immediate membership in the European Union.

He said, "We appeal to the European Union for Ukraine's immediate accession via a new special procedure."

The goal, he said, is to work together with all Europeans on an equal footing.

"I'm sure it's reasonable. "I'm confident it's doable," Zelensky said.
