In 2022, there would be no governorship elections anywhere in Yoruba Land, according to Akintoye, a self-determination leader.

Prof Banji Akintoye, oruba historian and head of Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, has stated that no governorship election will be held in any area of Yoruba nation in 2022.

Maxwell Adeyemi, the spokesperson for the Ilana Omo Oodua organisation, said as much in a statement released on Friday.

His declaration comes as governorship elections in the two South-West states of Ekiti and Osun are due to take place in 2022, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Governor Kayode Fayemi's (Ekiti) second term and Governor Gboyega Oyetola's (Osun) first term will both finish in 2022.

According to Akintoye, the next elections in which Yorubas would vote will be in their own country, after they have attained their homeland through self-determination movements.

He also mentioned that Sunday Adeyemo (Igboho), a well-known Yoruba campaigner, would be released shortly.

"I Banji Akintoye, with great appreciation to God, bring this word to all my Yoruba people at home in the Yoruba homeland and all Yoruba people in the Diaspora in virtually all countries of the world," Akintoye had added. I especially thank those of us who have participated in some way to the Yoruba struggle for self-determination. I salute and appreciate all Yoruba self-determination organisations and activists.

"God has blessed us with a tremendous lot of victory in our quest for Yoruba self-determination and the establishment of our Yoruba Nation State." The Yoruba self-determination struggle has become unassailable as most of our self-determination organisations have gotten stronger and more concentrated.

"The uninitiated may be inclined to observe only the divisions inside and between our self-determination organisations." But the genuinely perceptive would recognise that all of these apparent differences are a result of our young people's desire to establish their own Yoruba country.

"The war has begun for our youths, and there is no turning back." Our Yoruba people will go to whatever length to secure the sovereignty of our Yoruba nation and our own country in the globe.

"The self-determination struggle's beneficial achievements can be seen in a variety of ways. For example, Ilana Omo Oduduwa, one of our organisations, has a global structure and image, and some of our other organisations are following suit.

"Great things are happening as a result of the actions of these organisations. Ilana Omo Oduduwa launched Pajawiri, a truly groundbreaking invention, just a few days ago. Pajawiri has already spread across Yorubaland like wildfire. It will provide safety to every Yoruba men, woman, and kid at any time and in any place once it is fully disseminated out and perfected.

"We Yoruba accept, humbly and sadly, that we face a significant security dilemma." Another Nigerian ethnic group, the Fulani, has been threatening and attempting to conquer our Yoruba country by force for the past six years.

"They've come to slaughter our people, demolish our farmers' crops, communities, and farmsteads, rape women, and kidnap individuals for ransom." They've pushed many of our farmers to give up farming entirely, and they're attempting to starve us into starvation and extreme poverty.

"They began as cattle herders and militias armed with sophisticated weapons, but in recent years, they have been increasingly accompanied by hired terrorists from terrorism's homelands in far-flung corners of the globe.

"The Fulani cannot help but realise who we, the Yoruba people, are, and that we are the continent's largest, strongest, and most educated nationality." They are aware that we are a massive nation that has chosen to be compassionate and polite. Nonetheless, they have rushed headlong into this assault on our homeland.

"We have been reacting to their assault, happily and proudly, and our response is becoming stronger and more complex. Pajawiri is the most recent addition to our response mechanisms, with more and better ones on the way. As a result, I congratulate Yorubaland's youth for building increasingly powerful responses to the Fulani invasion.

"One thing is certain: the Fulani Invasion will not cause us to lose a single square inch of our land." Meanwhile, we will attain self-determination and sovereignty, and we will no longer be threatened or attacked by Fulanis.

"First and foremost, our beautiful son, Sunday Adeyemo, will soon be released from detention. Second, the Yoruba people will soon be granted a Yoruba Nation State, which has long been a dream of theirs. Third, their new Yoruba kingdom would swiftly develop into a wonderful place of peace, love, and abundant prosperity.

"Before I sign out on this communication, I'd like to address a few more points. The first is that most Yoruba self-determination advocates around the world are united in their determination that no State Governorship and House of Assembly elections would be held in our motherland in 2022. The next election in which we Yorubas will participate will be the first in our own new country.

"The second issue is that the Yoruba self-determination fight would use the legal system more forcefully to combat human rights violations in our Yoruba country. Human rights violations against our people have escalated substantially in recent years.

"The most heinous of these crimes was perpetrated against Chief Sunday Adeyemo and the inmates of his Ibadan house. Others were perpetrated against our people who were peacefully protesting in Lagos. At the time of the attack on Sunday Adeyemo's house in Ekiti State, one Yoruba person was detained for no apparent cause and held in detention for months.

"In fact, he might have died in custody." We will take severe action against all incidences of human rights abuse against our people beginning in 2022. The Yoruba people must now begin to prepare for such Human Rights activities.

"To sum up, I am confident that every Yoruba person on the planet is expecting me to make a remark regarding our beloved hero Chief Sunday Adeyemo. I wish I could say anything now that he's been liberated. Sadly, we will not be receiving that fantastic news today. But I join all Yoruba patriots everywhere in the earnest hope that he would soon be released.”
