China has volunteered to send a high-level delegation of criminal investigation professionals to meet with Nigerian security agencies in response to the country's instability.

Cui Jianchun, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, revealed this to journalists on the sidelines of the China-Nigeria friendship award ceremony for Ahmadu Bello University Zaria students on October 1 in Abuja.

Mr Cui stated that China's decision is part of China's support for Nigeria's fight against insecurity, and that security professionals are scheduled to arrive in Nigeria soon.

"The security situation in Nigeria, as well as the Chinese nationals in Nigeria, are of great concern to China's central government."

"We're working hard to figure out how we can enlist China's help." I feel it affects every Nigerian, and I believe that we require foreign assistance in addition to the Nigerian people and government.

"As a result, the Central Government has decided to dispatch a High-Level Delegation of criminal investigation professionals with real-world expertise."

"They come to Nigeria and talk to the people, the administration, and see how they can work together to address the difficulty," Mr Cui explained.

The Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Kabiru Bala, praised the Chinese government for its assistance and the Nigerian government for its efforts to combat insecurity.

Mr Bala stated that the University Campus has been heavily secured as a result of government action after the university requested increased security.

"Let me express my heartfelt gratitude for the government's efforts. We paid a special visit to the Inspector General of Police when we noticed signals of insecurity on campus.

"I am delighted to inform that the answer was very much appreciated by other government bodies and security agencies."

"There are some things I won't disclose publicly, but the reception has been fantastic."

"The Inspector-General stationed a large number of reinforcements, both equipment and soldiers, surrounding the school. "The Campus has been secured so far," Mr Bala added.

Mr Bala commented on the Chinese government's October 1 reward to University students, saying that the gesture from the Embassy is a great stimulus to the students.

"It's really edifying," Bala said, "because when students excel, it's important to recognise that greatness, and this is one of such gestures by the Chinese government through the Chinese Embassy."

The prize is part of the Chinese Embassy's "Oct. 1 Scholarship for Nigeria-China Friendship," according to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN).

The Chinese Embassy presented N5 million to fifty students as part of the celebration commemorating 50 years of friendship and bilateral relations between China and Nigeria.
