Dele Momodu joins the PDP, claiming that the Buhari administration ruined the PDP's legacy.

Chief Dele Momodu, a media magnate and billionaire, has joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is an opposition party in Nigeria.

Momodu made his decision to join the PDP official in a statement released on Friday.

In his explanation, he stated that his decision was motivated by the desire to make a meaningful contribution to the growth of the country.

The journalist accused the current All Progressives Congress (APC) of failing to provide democratic dividends to Nigerians, claiming that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had made significant strides during its 16-year administration in the country.

"I've talked to a lot of people," he remarked. And it is evident to me that, given the dangerous and tragic drift that our nation has experienced over the past six years, the Peoples Democratic Party is the only party from which apologies can be made to remedy our position (PDP).

"This is consistent with my vehement opposition to the policies and practices of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its leadership, which have systematically robbed our country of everything we cherish – national unity, cohesion, security, economic prosperity, educational advancement, social infrastructure, and, above all, our cherished moral values."

"As a result of these considerations, I am pleased to announce that I am now a fully participating member of the great and patriotic Democratic Party."

According to the statement, "it is very saddening and regretful that some of the most significant and historic achievements made during the PDP era have been diluted, wasted, or weakened by the current APC administration."
