The Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, has forbidden students from bringing their cars onto the school grounds.

This was revealed in a circular signed by the institution's Registrar, G.E. Ihiokhan, and dated September 22, 2021.

According to the letter, the action was taken in response to "disturbing reports" of reckless driving and unlawful packing by students received by the institution's management.

Auchi polytechnic management has received worrying reports of students driving recklessly on campus. They disregard traffic laws, park automobiles in designated official staff parking lots, and speed recklessly over bumps, threatening the lives and property of both staff and students on campus.

Management is deeply concerned about this obnoxious tendency, which is worsening by the day, and has decided to put an immediate stop to it.

As a result, Management has decided that all cars belonging to students be prohibited from visiting the campus from now on, until the end of the current tests."

"Only personnel and students with proper identification riding their personal or commercial motorcycles would be allowed on campus. Visitors having formal business on campus would also be granted access with their vehicles after presenting correct identification.
