Tinubu Calls for Unity
Speaking to residents gathered at Alex Ekwueme Square during her visit to Anambra, the First Lady called on Nigerians to put political differences aside and focus on addressing the basic needs of citizens.
She stressed the importance of collaboration in ensuring that government interventions reach those who need them most.
The Anambra event represents the final phase of the regional rollout of the National Community Food Bank Programme, completing its deployment across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
First Lady Commissions ICT Centre
During her visit, Senator Tinubu also commissioned the RHI/TETFUND ICT Experience Centre at the Federal Polytechnic Oko.
She encouraged students to embrace technology and use artificial intelligence constructively as part of their education and preparation for the future.
The First Lady said access to modern technology would help young Nigerians develop skills capable of creating opportunities in an increasingly digital economy.
₦100,000 Grant for 5,000 Beneficiaries
Another major highlight of the visit was the flag-off of the distribution of empowerment materials by the Anambra State Government to 5,000 beneficiaries.
Tinubu announced that each of the 5,000 beneficiaries would also receive a financial grant of ₦100,000.
The intervention is expected to provide additional support for beneficiaries as they pursue their various economic activities.
Tinubu Honoured as Ugoeze of Anambra
The First Lady was also honoured by traditional rulers in the state for her contributions to national development.
The Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Igwe Chidubem Iweka, conferred on Senator Tinubu the traditional title of Ugoeze of Anambra.
Governor Charles Soludo welcomed the Federal Government’s partnership with the state, describing cooperation between the federal and state governments as essential to creating an inclusive system where no Nigerian is left behind.
The Anambra visit therefore combined food security, social intervention, youth empowerment, technology and traditional recognition, with the First Lady’s office highlighting the need for stronger collaboration in addressing the needs of Nigerians.
