Speaking about the prestigious individual award, Kane said he is extremely proud of what he achieved last season but acknowledged that the final decision is beyond his control.
The England captain has maintained that he does not want to campaign aggressively for the award, preferring to allow his performances and statistics to speak for themselves.
“Last season was incredible, both personally and as a team. By far, it was the best season of my life,” Kane said in a recent interview.
The Bayern striker added that scoring 73 goals was something he was extremely proud of, while thanking his teammates and everyone who contributed to his success.
Kane on winning the Ballon d’Or
Kane admitted that winning the Ballon d’Or would be a huge achievement but stressed that the decision rests with the voters.
“I think the Ballon d’Or is as big as it gets from an individual point of view,” Kane said.
He also explained that his focus has now shifted to the new season, despite the continued attention surrounding the award.
“The Ballon d’Or is not in my hands. I've done what I can do in terms of putting in the performances. It's now down to votes and other people and the media,” he said.
Kane has also said that he would be extremely proud if he eventually wins the award, particularly because the 2026 ceremony is scheduled to take place in London.
A historic season for Kane
The 2025/26 campaign was particularly significant for the 33-year-old forward.
Kane scored 36 Bundesliga goals and claimed the European Golden Boot, while Bayern also enjoyed a successful domestic campaign.
His individual output has placed him among the leading names in discussions surrounding the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
However, Kane has repeatedly avoided making a prediction about the final outcome, insisting that the decision belongs to the voters.
With the Ballon d’Or ceremony set for October 26 in London, attention will now turn to whether Kane's outstanding season will be recognised with the biggest individual prize in football.
For Kane, however, the message remains clear: he is proud of what he achieved last season and is already focused on producing more memorable moments for Bayern Munich and England.
