Trump stated that the U.S. contributes large amounts of money each year to support NATO and ensure the security of its member countries. He suggested that despite this financial commitment, the alliance has not shown the same level of support in return.
According to him, the United States has always been willing to stand by NATO members when needed. However, he indicated that recent developments have made him reconsider whether such support should continue.
Trump further questioned the need for the U.S. to defend NATO countries if they are not equally supportive of America.
