Benue killings: Slain Law Professor, Dr Sarinu Ettor Kabo Laid to Rest Amidst Calls for Security Reform.

Dr. Sarinu Ettor Kabo, an associate professor in the law faculty at Prince Audu Abubakar University in Kogi State, was slain by terrorists almost a week ago.

He will be laid to rest today, Saturday, at Gboloko Bassa in the Dekina local government of Kogi State.

The university's vice chancellor, Prof. Marietu Ohunene Tenuche, made this claim in a brief statement. Recall that on his way from Taraba, Benue State, to Kogi State, the late professor Kabo was slain by bandits.

On Monday, April 22, 2024, Kabo was shot and killed at the Adaka and Kula towns along the Makurdi-Naka Road in Benue State.

Kabo was reportedly attending Taraba State University in Jalingo while on sabbatical.

The university and Nigerian education system as a whole were said to have suffered greatly from Kabo's passing.

Tearful Tenuche, who attended the moot court procession in honor of the deceased professor, demanded an end to Nigeria's security issues and denounced the conditions that led to Kabo's murder.

According to the VC, "When you hear news about insecurity and armed bandits attacks, you will think it is far and will never get to you, but here we are today mourning our very own" "What has happened to Kabo today is the tragedy of a nation called Nigeria.

The VC extended his condolences to the legal faculty, the man's spouse, and his relatives.

The late professor was praised by coworkers and the NBA Chairman Kogi State chapter for being a wonderful man, and it was said that his passing had left a significant void.
