Kaduna Airstrike Tragedy: Protesters Demand Justice and Minister's Resignation.

Protesters gathered at the National Assembly demanding justice for villagers killed in a military drone airstrike during the Maulud festival in Kaduna.

The leader of NYCN and Arewa Youth Movement, Nasir Ishaku, urged Minister of Defence Abubakar Badaru to resign, citing ongoing security challenges and the minister's alleged incompetence.

In a fervent demonstration, protesters swarmed the National Assembly on Wednesday, demanding justice for the victims of a tragic airstrike in Tudun Diri, Kaduna State. The incident, caused by a military drone, resulted in the accidental killing of villagers celebrating the Maulud festival.

Addressing the press during the protest, Nasir Ishaku, leader of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) North West Zone and Arewa Youth Movement, called upon Minister of Defence Abubakar Badaru to resign.

Ishaku expressed grave concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the country, particularly in Northern Nigeria, and emphasized that the loss of innocent lives on a daily basis was intolerable.

Since his (Badaru's) appointment as Minister of Defence, the country's safety condition has fell apart," Ishaku claimed.

He went on to highlight the continuous loss of members from various branches of the armed forces and the unsettling situation of university students in captivity with unknown whereabouts.

Ishaku concluded that these were clear signs of the minister's incompetence and called for him to either step up to his responsibilities or resign from the sensitive ministry.

The protest sheds light on the growing frustration and concern among citizens regarding the state of security in Nigeria, prompting a direct challenge to the competency of the Minister of Defence.
