Tensions Flare at UN Security Council as Iran and US Clash Over Regional Insecurity.

 During the UN Security Council debate, Iran's ambassador accused the United States of unfairly blaming Iran for the growing insecurity in the region. He pointed out that the U.S.'s consistent support for Israel's occupation and aggressive actions has made it a part of the problem.Continue reading 

 The ambassador also claimed that the U.S. worsened the conflict by aligning itself with Israel, disregarding the innocent Palestinian population. 

He criticized the quick provision of military and logistical support to Israel, stating that this made the U.S. complicit in the tragic deaths of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

In contrast, U.S. Secretary of State Blinken had previously informed the council that Iran and its allies were contributing to regional instability, and he warned that the United States would respond if its personnel were harmed.
