Paul Hanson, 54, was killed at their family home during an argument three days after Christmas, according to Teresa Hanson, who was found guilty of murder at Hull Crown Court after jurors deliberated for less than three hours. Teresa Hanson is expected to spend at least nine years in prison for the killing.
She described how he started shouting in her face and calling her a "f****** bitch" as she was preparing a Mediterranean Tart for their supper during the murder trial, and how all she wanted was for him to leave.
Just after 7 o'clock on December 28, according to the prosecution, she allegedly plunged the knife into Paul's heart, severing his biggest artery and sending blood "spurting out" of his body before he passed out.
When Mrs. Hanson called an ambulance at around 7:05 p.m., she explained that she had stabbed her husband "out of anger" after "having a row." When Paul entered the kitchen and told her to "f*** off" and called her a "b****," she continued by telling the police that she had stabbed him.
Despite the knife being contaminated with "fatty deposits" and other substances from her husband Paul's severely injured body, the woman insisted that she was unaware that he had suffered a fatal injury.
She insisted that she wasn't aware of any yells, groans, sobs, or moans coming from him. She was utterly oblivious that he had fainted in the hallway and left a trail of blood.
Mrs. Hanson refused to answer any questions during the police interrogation regarding the murder incident that occurred in West Cowick, close to Goole, East Yorkshire, and only provided a prepared statement.
A pathologist deemed this to be "highly unlikely" despite the woman's assertion that her husband accidentally stumbled into the knife when she turned around while carrying it. Mrs. Hanson stated that she did not want to kill or gravely hurt him and that the stabbing was an accident.
