Peter Obi, the Labour Party's (LP) presidential candidate, was unable to submit an objection on Wednesday regarding the alleged violation of the 2022 Electoral Act by the 2023 election, according to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).
The alleged non-compliance of the 2023 presidential election with the Electoral Act was one of the grounds for the petition filed by Peter Obi and his party against the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) announcement of President Bola Tinubu as the victor of the elections on February 25.
Obi emphasized INEC's refusal to send election results online.
However, in response to the petition, Justice Haruna Tsammani, the presiding judge of the five-person Tribunal panel, declared that Mr. Obi is "estopped" (forbidden) from bringing up the matter until the Federal High Court has decided it.
