In a sorrowful statement posted on the late singer's official Instagram account, Mohbad's family announced his passing and stated that he is "finally at peace" wherever he is.
They continued by pleading with Nigerians to respect their family's privacy as they grieve the untimely demise of their beloved son.
"We certify the passing of Mohbad today, on September 12, 2023, with deep sorrow.
The family asks that you continue to maintain their privacy during this trying time. "Mohbad was light till the very end, and as we mourn the loss of the brightness he carried, the family thanks you for your love and prayers. Finally, Imole is at rest.
Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as MohBad, was a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter from Lagos who was born on 8 June 1996 and died on 9 September 2023.
